What Character.ai does better
- Character catalogue. Millions of personas created by users, covering every fandom, archetype, and creative scenario imaginable. It's a shared social space for imagined conversation, and no other product has that scale.
- Roleplay fluency. The model and product are tuned for dramatic and creative back-and-forth. If you want to write a scene with a character, Character.ai is the best product in the category.
- Open-ended discovery. Browsing the catalogue is entertainment in itself; you stumble into conversations you didn't know you wanted.
What Aiffinity does better
1. The AI is you, not a fictional character
Character.ai excels at "talk to a fictional person". Aiffinity does the opposite: your Aiven is modelled on your actual Individual Print — personalization signals observed in your behaviour, your preferences, the way you treat specific relationships. The goal is an AI that can stand in for you when you draft a message, not one that entertains you from a different persona.
2. It acts in the real world
A Character.ai conversation ends at the edge of the chat. An Aiven conversation can end at "send the email, pay the bill, book the dinner" because Aiven is wired to 170+ apps via OAuth. Every action is approval-gated and auditable.
3. It lives in the messenger with real people
Character.ai is a separate app. Aiffinity is your messenger — your family and friends are there, and Aiven shows up in those threads too. You can keep using Character.ai for play and use Aiffinity for the real stuff.
4. Your profile context is portable
Character.ai memory lives inside a character, inside Character.ai. Your Aiffinity Individual Print is yours, exportable, and can be granted to other compatible AIs via OAuth.
When to pick which
Pick Character.ai for roleplay, creative conversation, fandom, and entertainment. It's a different category of product — closer to a social / creative platform than a tool.
Pick Aiffinity for an AI that works as an extension of you — drafting, planning, and acting across the apps and people in your real life.
Pick both if you enjoy creative roleplay but want a separate, instrumental AI for everyday communication and action.
Migrating from Character.ai
Character.ai lets you export conversations per-character. Save the transcripts, then in Aiffinity open Aiven → Import → From Character.ai. The import flow:
- Extracts signals about how you write — cadence, humour, phrasing — from your side of the transcript.
- Ignores the fictional character's side by default; you can choose to include it if you want Aiven to adopt stylistic elements.
- Runs locally on-device; the raw transcript is not uploaded in cloud storage.

Does Aiffinity let me create custom AI characters like Character.ai?
Aiffinity's model is different: instead of creating many characters, you have one Aiven that is modelled on your real Individual Print. It reflects you — not a roleplay persona. For immersive roleplay with many fictional characters, Character.ai is still the strongest product.
Can I import my Character.ai conversations into Aiffinity?
Character.ai allows conversation exports per-character. Aiffinity's import flow accepts those exports and folds the observed patterns (how you talk, what you talk about) into your Individual Print. Purely fictional content is filtered out of IP signals by default.
Is Aiffinity safer for teens than Character.ai?
Aiffinity is designed for adults (18+) and has age-gating during sign-up. It does not offer fictional character roleplay, user-generated personas, or unmoderated persona marketplaces. Content safety is handled differently than on a roleplay platform — closer to the standards of a messaging app than an entertainment app.
